How Our Intuitions Deceive Us
Taught By Professor Christopher Chabris, Union College
Why is intuition so important?
Because intuition is the rapid thinking that we aren't aware of that we do most of the time; because intuition comprises most of the thinking that we do in our lives.
This unique and insightful seminar is chock full of audience experiments, cartoon clips, and even a Woody Allen joke. Professor Christopher Chabris deconstructs the everyday illusions that we have about how our minds work (no, you cannot safely talk on your cell phone while driving!) In doing so, he leads us toward a greater awareness of our own minds, and a greater sensitivity toward some basic faults in human nature.
